“Building Trust in Cybersecurity”—The Journey of Vikram Taneja, CEO of CyberSRC Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.

At CXO Junction, we believe in sharing stories of resilience, leadership, and innovation. Today, we’re proud to feature Vikram Taneja, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CyberSRC Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., whose journey is a testament to determination, purpose, and the pursuit of excellence in cybersecurity.

The Roller-Coaster Ride to Becoming a CEO

When asked about his journey to the top and how interesting the roller-coaster ride has been, he shares:

“My journey began in 2017, at the peak of my career, working as an IT Risk Manager at a top Indian IT company. But I saw a pressing need—MSMEs and SMEs were struggling with the complexities of cybersecurity, and there weren’t enough companies supporting them against growing cyber threats. That’s when I decided to take the leap.”

“We started small—just two seats in a basement co-working space, managing costs while building a vision. Trust is everything in cybersecurity, and without an established history, our credentials were questioned at every level. But we persevered, and in 2021, CyberSRC became the youngest company to be listed as a CERT-IN empaneled security auditing company—within just three years of its inception.

“Today, we proudly serve 200+ business customers with a 60% YoY growth rate, offering over 90 cybersecurity services and launching three products in Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability Management. The journey has been challenging yet exhilarating, proving that with persistence and a strong vision, anything is possible.”

Advice for Future Leaders

Vikram believes that while the next generation of leaders comes with a strong foundation, they must prioritize ethics and core business values:

“Making money is easy, but how you make it is what defines you. The future of leadership lies in integrity, ethics, and a commitment to doing business the right way. I strongly believe in the ‘Make in India for the World’ vision, and I encourage future leaders to embrace it.”

If He Could Solve One Global Problem, What Would It Be?

“One of the biggest challenges the world faces today is greed and unethical practices. The unequal distribution of resources—whether it’s wealth, land, food, or power—has created a humanitarian crisis. If we can control greed and unethical practices, we can build a more just and equitable world for the generations to come.”

Vikram Taneja’s journey is a powerful reminder that trust, resilience, and ethical leadership are the keys to long-term success.
