His career spans several industry-leading organizations, where he has been at the forefront of securing critical infrastructure and guiding digital transformations. Known for his ability to merge technical expertise with business strategy, he has led organizations through complex security challenges, ensuring that technology drives both growth and resilience. Now, as the CEO of Adani Enterprises’ newly formed Operational Technology Cybersecurity division, he is tasked with leading the charge to safeguard the digital backbone of industries, helping build a safer and more secure future for India’s rapidly evolving infrastructure.

About his previous roles:

Before joining Adani, Burgess was a Cybersecurity Partner and Deputy Leader at EY India . During this time, he played a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s cybersecurity services across various sectors. His leadership helped clients navigate the increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape, providing strategic guidance on digital transformation and security frameworks. He also served as SVP & CISO at Vodafone India, where he was responsible for overseeing cybersecurity and privacy for the brand across India. His tenure saw the implementation of several large-scale security initiatives to strengthen both customer and operational security frameworks. Additionally, he held the role of AVP Information Security at HSBC, during which he played a key role in implementing global security frameworks and protecting the bank’s digital assets across various markets. Each of these roles highlighted his ability to blend strategic vision with hands-on technical expertise, delivering long-term, enterprise-grade security solutions for global organizations.
