What inspired you to step into the marketing world, especially in the IT space?
I choose marketing because of my interest in creative thinking, experimentation, technology and business. You feel good and satisfied when you know that marketing is the reason for creating this opportunity and helping it close as well. The feeling of helping a business close a million-dollar deal gives you a good sleep.
Marketing in the IT/cybersecurity industry can be tricky! What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced, and how did you tackle it?
The biggest challenge nowadays is the constant change in technology and digital landscape and competition in the market as all the businesses are targeting the same set of audiences as you are. To tackle this I keep meeting different marketers to understand what is new that they are doing and I also read a lot about the upcoming trends and technology in marketing. Also giving a good experience to your audience in events has also worked well for me.
Marketing teams are the backbone of any brand. How do you build a high-performing team and align their goals with other departments?
The most important thing is to have a common goal between marketing and sales only then we can build a high-performing team. Then think of ideas that cater to your audience and your company. What your target audience wants and is that also what your sales team or company is looking for if the answer for both is yes then go for it and create that campaign.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind as a marketing leader?
Character, passion for marketing and to be remembered as a mentor who helped others grow in their career
