Suresh Sharma brings over 20 years of extensive expertise in cybersecurity, risk & compliance, and IT operations. His appointment as Executive Vice President – Group CISO | Operations | IT at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to enterprise-grade cybersecurity, innovation, and resilience. He is known for his strategic leadership in building robust security frameworks, driving compliance with global standards, and delivering measurable risk mitigation across large, complex organizations.
About his previous roles:
Before joining Motilal Oswal, Suresh served as Chief Information Security Officer at PayU, where he led the security strategy for the fintech giant for over three years. At PayU, he built comprehensive cybersecurity programs to support secure digital payments infrastructure at scale. He was also the Director of Cyber Security at Ola Electric, where he managed OT security, cyber strategy, and critical infrastructure protection, strengthening the company’s defense posture during its rapid growth phase. At GE, he worked as Senior Manager – Cyber Security Researcher Risk & Compliance for nearly four years, leading initiatives in security orchestration, system vulnerability assessment, and compliance with global frameworks like ISO 27001 and GDPR. His work included SAP security, threat modeling, and data protection across hybrid environments. He also headed the cybersecurity vertical at Qsome, where he was responsible for designing and delivering Managed Security Services for global customers. He helped clients implement ISO 27034-aligned security practices and partnered with executive leadership to create long-term cybersecurity consulting models. During the nascent years of his career he had an impressive 12-year tenure at SAP, where he held key leadership roles including Senior Manager – SAP Security. At SAP, he led global information security projects, created security standards and procedures, and implemented best practices across SAP’s partner ecosystem. He also contributed to SAP’s “Business by Design” product development, working on enterprise service-oriented architecture and development frameworks.
